Assessment for residency/naturalization
To qualify to apply for permanent residency or naturalization, applicants must complete the Social Integration Program or pass the Comprehensive Assessment for Permanent Residency.
Comprehensive Assessment for Permanent Residency
To qualify to apply for permanent residency, applicants must complete 5 Level Basic Courses of the Korea Immigration & Integration Program (KIIP).
As a alternative, applicants can apply for permanent residency without taking the program when they have scored 85 points or higher on a preliminary placement test and passed the comprehensive assessment.

- To see whether applicants qualify for Permanent Residency (designed for registered aliens who have not completed 5 Level Basic Courses

- Persons who took the placement test for KIIP within the last two years and scored 85 points or more

Certificate of Comprehensive Assessment for Permanent Residency
※ Certificates for applicants who passed the comprehensive assessment but have not completed the Social Integration Program will be marked as “Not Completed.” This will be revised to “Completed” after the successful applicants complete the Social Integration Program (Level Basic Courses)

- Unsuccessful applicants
- Unsuccessful applicants can retake the exam an unlimited number of times within 2 years
Comprehensive Assessment for Naturalization
Naturalization applicants have one year from the application date to be eligible to take the Comprehensive Assessment and are required to submit the certificate.
However, applicants who have successfully completed the Social Integration Program (5 Level courses) are exempt from the post-naturalization comprehensive assessment.

- To see whether applicants qualify for Naturalization (designed for registered aliens who have not completed Level 5 Basic Courses or an Advanced Courses)

- Persons who have applied for naturalization within the past one year

Certificate of Comprehensive Assessment for Naturalization
