Long-term programs
The following programs provide foreign students with opportunities to study at higher education institutions in Korea.
Government scholarship program
The program promotes international exchange and mutual friendship by providing foreign students with opportunities to study at higher education institutions in Korea.

- Courses provided

- Undergraduate program: bachelor degree courses and associate degree courses at universities in Korea
- Graduate program: master’s courses and doctoral courses at graduate schools in Korea
- Research program: conduct research as exchange professor or via postdoctoral course at research institutions (including universities) in Korea

- No. of recipients
- 150 foreign students for undergraduate program and 800 foreign students for graduate program (may vary depending on budget)

- How to apply

- Undergraduate and graduate programs: Submit an application form to the Korean diplomatic mission in the relevant country or to the relevant university in Korea.
- Research program: Submit an application form to the relevant university in Korea.

Korea-Japan joint student exchange program for higher education
The following program supports the exchange of foreign students between Korea and Japan for the development of future talents who will lead and promote the relationship between the two countries.
Foreign students with multiple nationalities are not eligible: (Korea→Japan) Korean nationality, (Japan→Korea) Japanese nationality
Short-term undergraduate program

- Undergraduate students enrolled in undergraduate courses at a university in the student’s home country
One-year undergraduate course

- (Korea→Japan) 1 year (from October to September of the following year)

- At least 18 years and under 30 years of age

- Sophomore or higher enrolled in undergraduate courses at a university in the student’s home country
Master's and doctoral degrees
